Science fiction/ fantasy with gladiator-style battles?

I just finished Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff and I’m realizing I really loved the whole gladiator vibe. Are there any other series out there with a similar setup/themes?

Submission rules - This place is for asking for book recommendations. If you just want to talk generally about books, go to /r/books or /r/literature. IF YOU ONLY SHOW UP TO PUSH A BOOK, YOU’LL GET BANNED. For promoting your own book, use /r/wroteabook. - Posts with only a title will be removed. Put your request in the text box clearly, and if you can, give examples like books or movies that are similar. - No links in posts. Anything with a link gets removed. - Don’t post “Should I read this?” or “is this book good?” type posts. - No meta posts about this sub or any other one. Comment rules - Be respectful. Please actually help with the discussion. Don’t jump on the person asking or other suggestions, and definitely don’t go after or lecture individual users. - First-level comments need to be suggestions or questions that help narrow down the request. - If you want to add a link with your suggestion, we’d rather you link to the author page or an Amazon alternative. - Don’t link to pirated stuff. Mods can remove any illegal content. - This isn’t for advertising your own book. If you’re obviously promoting it too much in the comments, you can be banned. - Heads up: Amazon links might get hit by the spam filter. If you think that happened, message the mods. - Heads up again: link shorteners get removed automatically. Use the full link. Markdown is fine if you want it to look cleaner. [Ficciones](htp://en.wiki.../Ficciones) turns into Ficciones - Use spoiler tags so you don’t ruin key plot points. Like this: [Spoiler:](#s "something unexpected happens") turns into Spoiler: Reddit-wide rules still apply here. Any questions or requests? Message the mods. How to get your own book title flair

I’ve kind of gotten obsessed with Roman gladiators lately—not just the fighting, but the whole cultural setup that made it a thing, and how much value it actually had in Roman society. Does anyone have good book recommendations on ancient Rome and gladiators? I’ve tried searching around, but there are way too many options, so I’m not sure what’s worth it. Any suggestions would be awesome. Also, I’m pretty new here and I’m really glad I found this community :D

Anyone know any fantasy books that have a gladiator/Spartan kind of vibe? I’m thinking along the lines of something like Gates of Fire, but turned into fantasy—does that exist? Appreciate any suggestions in advance!
