Books like “The Secret Garden”
By Lake_Frog
Hey everyone! I just finished *The Secret Garden* (Frances Burnett H.) and honestly loved it. I’m trying to find other books with a similar vibe. A few things I’m really into: - I love the whole visual/mysterious side of it—pretty gardens, weird hidden spaces, and that kind of architecture mystery (like labyrinth-ish stuff). It’s especially great when those places aren’t just decoration, but actually mean something and show up as symbols. - It doesn’t have to be “classic lit” or anything. - I also kinda like religious vibes. In this one, the garden feels like a stand-in for paradise, and I’d be into novels that have similar religious metaphors or at least some mystery elements of that kind too (not necessarily tied to this garden setup). - And I don’t want strictly kids’ books. I know *The Secret Garden* is usually labeled for kids, but to me it reads like it works for adults, so adult-ish stories are totally fine. Any suggestions?
