This one of Doyle’s best-known mysteries really does feel like it comes alive—the whole ancient curse vibe and that nasty ghostly hound are actually pretty scary. The gray towers at Baskerville Hall and all that wild Dartmoor country stuck with me, and I kept picturing Holmes and Watson trying to sort out all the secrets hiding in those misty bogs.
