Book club recs to bring my friends to the dark side?

My friends really aren’t fantasy people at all — our book club mostly does murder mysteries and big mainstream bestsellers — but it’s my turn to choose and I’d love to give them a taste of what they’re missing. Does anyone have a recommendation for something good and easy to get into, preferably around 400 pages, that might make them remember their younger selves knew what they were doing when they liked this stuff?
