what was your favourite book ever ?
By WoodBinary
I’m with the “kill a mockingbird” crowd. I had to read it for school when I was 14 (and yeah, I’m 62 now), and I was the only kid in my class who actually liked it. I’m still really grateful to my English teacher for pushing me into reading more for the rest of my life. What I loved most was that it’s told through the eyes of an 8-year-old girl, dealing with racial injustice in the deep South, and it centers on her white dad—who’s a lawyer—defending a Black man who’s accused of raping a white woman. Edit: Thanks to everyone who replied. So many people and so many suggestions for me to hunt down. Your comments just confirmed how passionate readers are about what they love. Long live books!
