Books from 1900's - 1920's
By EstivageFable
I’ve been trying to read fiction in a pretty loose semi-chronological way. I started with the 1800s as a whole, went through a bunch of the biggest books, and then somehow a lot of the lesser-known stuff from the period started showing up too—either from people seeing me reading and tossing out suggestions, or because the books themselves had “further reading” lists. I also ended up really getting into certain authors; Thomas Hardy in particular, and then I just kept working through most of his stuff. Anyway, I’m moving into the 1900s now, specifically 1920s-ish. I’m happy to take any suggestions. I’d rather stick with fiction, but I’ll read an important non-fiction work if it’s really tied to the time period. Like, while I was doing the 1800s I also read *Origin of Species*. If there are authors I should definitely pay attention to, let me know. I’m aiming to spend about a year to a year-and-a-half covering this period. Also—if you can, include the publication date. If not, no worries, I can look it up.
