Book about a kid in a war as a drummer boy
By ivy_paperback6645
Hi! This is kind of a shot in the dark, but I read a book a long time ago about a fictional kid who ends up joining the army. I want to say it was around the Civil War era, but I’m not totally sure. I remember he was a drummer boy, and at some point he had to get on a ship. Later in the story, during a battle, the person in front of him gets shot in the head, which I still vividly remember. I also think the cover had something to do with the side of a train car or maybe a train, but that could definitely be wrong. Any help would be appreciated!
