Books set in a monastery/convent or centering around a religious order?
By AmberVelvet
I’m pretty open to any genre as long as I get that setting/theme I’m craving. I’ve read a bunch of monk biographies from different religions and places, and I’d be up for more nonfiction, but fiction is what I’d rather have. I don’t need the whole story to be in a monastery either, and I’m not picky about what religion it uses—real or made up is fine. I can do kids’ books, but I’m not really into YA. Some stuff I’ve really liked: - The Brothers Karamazov - Laurus - The Name of the Rose - Essays in Idleness - The Singing Hills Cycle by Nghi Vo And a couple I read but didn’t love as much: - Psalm for the Wild Built - The Black Tides of Heaven (it felt a little too YA to me) Thanks to everyone for the recs! Sorry if I’m slow replying—just want you to know I’m really grateful and it’s going straight onto my holiday TBR.
