Reader discussion: The tower treasure

Public reader discussion about The tower treasure in the WeRead Catalog by Franklin W. Dixon.

I read all 190 Hardy Boys books

I started this during the pandemic just because I was bored, and honestly they’re really easy to get through. I think it took me about a year and a half, mainly because I kept taking long breaks when it started to feel kind of same-y. My favorites were probably #1 The Tower Treasure, #3 The Secret Of The Old Mill, and #11 While The Clock Ticked. I also liked #94 Breakdown In Axeblade and #99 Dungeon of Doom, mostly because they felt way different from the others. The one I didn’t care for much was #59 Night of The Werewolf. It still had some good moments, but that’s where I felt the quality started slipping. Most of the other “bad” ones kind of blur together—they were just dull more than anything. Edit: would I tell you to read them? Not really, unless you genuinely like light, kid mystery type books, or you want to see how the series changed over time.

Anyone else like The Hardy Boys books in the 70s?

The only books I can really remember reading are the ones I read when I was a kid.
