Shakespeare completed works or individual paperbacks?

By cosmiccat4595

I’m doing an English BA and we cover Shakespeare in my classes, but I also just really love his plays and poems. I’m thinking about getting a hardcover “collected works,” and I’m curious if there’s really any advantage to buying individual paperbacks instead. I’ll probably use paperbacks for school (or borrow them), but if I’m reading at home, am I missing anything by going with one big collection? Also, does anyone have a recommendation for which collected edition to get? The only one I know I don’t like is the Oxford Press one. I know this is kind of a dumb question, but thanks to anyone who answers.
