The Wind in the Willows

I was slogging through a book I wasn’t really getting into, and then it mentioned the Green Man. That got me curious, so I looked him up and saw he also shows up in *The Wind in the Willows*. I’ve wanted to read that for ages, so I finally started it. I’m only in chapter one, but wow—this is genuinely beautiful and kind of deep. It feels lyrical, like it’s got that Lewis-ish vibe, and there’s this misty, magical Tolkien sort of feeling too. I’m in my 50s and somehow I’m sitting here all caught up and dreamy because of a children’s book. It’s weird, but it also makes me feel like… life really is beautiful.
